Life is Elsewhere tour
Irish band Los Stompers, resident in Barcelona for over two decades, will be touring their sixth album, Life is Elsewhere (Ventilador Music, 2017), throughout Catalonia and Spain during 2019.
The album could be seen as an investigation of the Celtic Soul: drawing on and recasting elements of Irish myth, legend and tradition to reappraise the constructs of self and nationhood. This theme finds its musical counterpart in a (slight) return to the folk feel of earlier outings.

The group’s reacquaintance with their Irish roots is made patent by the foregrounding of acoustic guitar, violin and mandola; Stephane Jaïs´ piano adds depth and texture, while the veteran Stomper rhythm section of Marcos López and Dara Luskin shapes a potent backdrop. The shows will allow musical paths, uncovered during recent recording sessions, to be travelled by musicians and audience alike.
From Jigs, Reels and Sean Nós singing, to the country-rock and contemporary ballads of Life is Elsewhere, the live act has something for all lovers of Irish music, be it traditional, contemporary or elsewhere.
